HEC Family,
This week marks the last week of school for many of our students and the kick off of summer for all of us. I want to encourage us to remain faithful in giving of our time, talent and financial gifts that support the ministry and mission of our church.  We have always believed that “Together We Are Better”! When everyone does their part in supporting the work of ministry God is glorified and honored before a watching world. Your faithful support of this ministry, makes it possible to impact people near and far with both the Gospel and good works.
Have you considered that what we think we own we don’t really own? We know that is true for the car and house we have financed through the bank. In actuality everything we think we own is simply on loan to us. Consider Psalms 24:1 that reads, “The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it.” This passage, and others, teaches us that God owns it all.
What we have He has entrusted to us. Here is another passage to consider, “Now it is required that those who have been given a trust (literally, stewards) must prove faithful” (1 Corinthians 4:2). The Greek term “steward” here includes a form of the word, “house.” It describes a household manager in the ancient Greek world who handled the finances for the owner. Managers are accountable to owners for how they use their finances or material possessions.
Building and Land Update:
We are at a key moment in time as we move to see the Transformation Outreach Center (Name of our Building) Home of Higher Expectations Church become a reality.  The next phase of our project requires the hiring of an architect, civil engineer and an construction consultant  as we complete the final design on the building and secure permits to break ground. This portion of the project alone will have an estimated cost of $42,000. So how will we get this done, simply by each of us remaining faithful in our consistent weekly giving and believing God to stretch us as a church to give sacrificially to see all that God has for us at Higher Expectations Church come to past. We have several bids on the building project ranging from 1.3 million to 1.8 million the leadership on the building team will be during due diligence as we select the contractor that best fits our needs through the process of prayer, meetings and due diligence. Pray for wisdom as we get closer to breaking ground.
